Ben coped with the situation differently. To him, Viljo and Catarina had been his parents as long as he could think. He had just been orphaned a second time and he didn't know how to handle it. Angela in turn didn't know how to handle Ben. He was acting up, having mood swings and throwing tantrums like a toddler. He refused to shower, he started wetting the bed, it was the terrible threes all over again in a ten year old.
For some reason, he did listen to Charlotte though. He had always looked up to her. Even though he had been the first to arrive at Planting Trees, it had been obvious from the moment Charlotte moved into the nursery that Ben was impressed by everything she did. And that hadn't changed a bit. So now it was Charlotte, not Angela, who would get Ben to do his homework.
